The Family

Overview

Michael Dean and Cheryl Lynn Tennant started their lives together in Idaho. They met while attending Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho), moved to Iowa for schooling, and lived in places such as Missouri and Colorado. For a few years starting in 2007, they moved to a small city in Southeast Idaho called Pocatello to be closer to family, at least for a time. In August of 2011, Mike and Cheryl moved back to another small town outside of Grand Junction, Colorado called Fruita for better employment opportunities. They have a family consisting of four children (three boys and a girl), six living grandchildren, another grandchild on the way, and one grandchild that passed away from SIDS in December of 2006.

The Family History

Mike and Cheryl met and married in Idaho and very quickly started their family nine months later with the birth of their first son, Kenneth Dean. Moving to Boise, Idaho, the family continued to grow with the additional births of Michael Scott and David Wayne. Eventually, the family moved to the state of Iowa for school reasons where the family grew by one additional child, the birth of Shanna Lynn.

More on Mike

After the birth of David, Mike decided to attend Palmer Chiropractic school in Des Moines, Iowa to obtain his degree in chiropractics. When he graduated 6 years later, Mike started out working for various doctors in the states of Missouri and Colorado. However, none of those worked out for him and he ended up starting a practice of his own in Colorado, which he ran until the spring of 2007.

Since the move, Mike has enjoyed spending time with the family and finding a job working for Heinz as a cook. It is hard physical work that he loves to do as everyday he is doing something different. He also enjoys long walks, bike riding or running depending upon mood, and taking care of the family dogs, Duke and Buster.

More on Cheryl

On top of having a family and supporting her husband during his school years, Cheryl decided on finishing her degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Colorado State University. Once she had her degree, she began teaching at a high school level in Colorado until the summer of 2006. Starting in the fall of 2006, Cheryl began working for Marsh Valley High School teaching courses related to her degree. She enjoys the time that she gets to spend with the kids and looks forward to each new semester.

Cheryl enjoys bike riding, putting puzzles together, and spending time with family.
